OVO ENERGY FUND

The fund supports financially vulnerable customers who have a debt on their energy bill.

You can apply if you

  • Have, or used to have, an account with OVO Energy
  • Have a debt on your gas or electricity account of at least £150
  • Have a valid reason affecting your ability to pay
  • Earn less than £16,190 a year

OVO have engaged with the Centre for Sustainable Energy to offer free and impartial advice on how to save energy.

FUEL DIRECT

You can pay off some of your debts using certain benefits. The DWP will assign a portion of your benefits each week to cater for your debts and ongoing costs.

You can join this scheme through either Jobcentre/pension centre if you are on one or more of the benefits listed below:

  • Universal Credit
  • Jobseeker’s Allowance
  • Employment and Support Allowance
  • Income Support
  • Pension Credit.

PRIORITY SERVICES

The Priority Services Register is a free support service to help people in vulnerable situations. Energy suppliers and network operators offer it. Each keeps their own register. You need to contact your energy supplier or network operator to get on it. (Ofgem)
